The thing about swords and so many wielders of them: the latter keep forgetting that the former have ends, even if sometimes squared off. They can be used to thrust as well as to hack.
Separately but related: where is Tirin’s dagger? That’s the killer or otherwise duel winner. Swords are just distraction.

You can’t thrust through a shield if you don’t have a way to continue the momentum, much easier to hack through a shield (plus, the continued pounding can cause additional cracks, in both the shield itself and the one deploying it)
As for the dagger, she didn’t bring one
Swords are only a distraction for those who don’t know how to use it properly
Good points. I can see how a sneaky dagger can serve to be lethal with the sword as a distraction. But also see how a swordmaster would not think they need a dagger. In Tirin’s case, she was expecting to have a 1 on 1 sword match, until the rules of the match were changed at the last minute.
Also, that sword looks like a two-hander, don’t believe LilTir is strong, or skilled, enough to wield it with one hand and utilize an off-hand weapon like a dagger
Although, having a backup weapon is always a good idea

If you look in the first panel, she IS holding the sword with both hands. Also in the second panel. Most likely because of the weight, and because she would be able to put a great deal more power into her swing.
It wasn’t TirTeen who went batshit crazy at the mention of Grace (that TirTeen didn’t even mention)
And hoping the botceptionist doesn’t take her boss’ last comment as an instruction for her
May just be me, but Zitface looking scared in panel five has her looking her most attractive
Not because she’s scared, but because she’s not looking like an angry bitch… possibly for the first time ever 😛
