As Trina and Tirin traveled to Reny's last known location (a fix-it-shop located on a distant planet in another galactic system), Trina is telling Tirin her story about seeking to recover lost memories about a long-lost friend/fellow iMate named Genesis. Billy, Trina's boyfriend, has hired Dabney to help recover these missing memories. Dabney is the emotional mind reader, doppleganger first introduced in Chapter 13 who now works for Queen Shayli Vay of Saronia.
Billy was first introduced way back in Chapter 11 during Tirin's childhood. He was Tirin's boyfriend for a while. Billy purchased iMate Trina in Chapter 20 for companionship after Tirin broke up with him. Billy relates how he now works for Queen Shayli Vay as Saronia's Chief Scientific Advisor as well as why he and Tirin broke up.
An iMate is a super advanced android originally designed as pleasure bots, but their inventor wanted them to be so much more...
Dabney unlocked Trina's memories and Trina has replayed them out loud, much to Dabney's delight. Dabney takes on the form of Genesis so Trina can take a picture. She went to the iMate store but they denied ever having a unit like Genesis. As you may recall, Genesis knew how to "activate" imates to become independent (Chapter 25, page 19). Tirin thinks the imate store wiped Genesis's memory also to prevent her from activating or teaching others how to activate imates. Now Trina is relating to Tirin that she decided to hire a detective to find Genesis. Billy has revealed that he is training to be an "eros healer" for the Queen of Saronia. Trina a bit jealous, wondered if Billy's magical trainer, Abby, turned him on. He countered with the fact that Trina is BETTER than magic.
Tirin and Trina have reached their destination, the fix-it-shop that Trina's detective, Hemrock Hames, traced Genesis to. Detective Hames explained what happened to Genesis and how she was hired to help protect Wendy from a gang of malcontents who were disappointed that Wendy hadn't yet fixed a certain broken Imperial Droid. Tirin sees the bike that Reny had used to find Wendy, now stripped of all it's valuable parts. Detective Hames informs Tirin and Trina that a certain member of the Emperor's staff, named Ephraim, had commissioned this group of malcontents to fix the broken Imperial droid, for reasons unknown. Ephraim, fearful that his suspicious activities would be found out, had all parties involved arrested by the Emperor (all of this happened in Chapter 24). As Tirin is trying to figure out what to do next, she gets a call via neuralink...

This is a very serious, and tragic, situation, but gotta smile at Reny’s pout in the last panel 🙂
