Chapter 21, page 28 – was her name Cadence?

Uh-oh, speak of the devil... Back on page 15 of this chapter, Prince Jilak explained to Tirin how he obtained the timegate to go to Riuotho. A woman in his harem named Cadence was the one who advised him -- he did not know it was a timegate, he was only told of the possibility that he could become very powerful (by trading for Lord Durminat's ability to siphon energy from humans). We have not seen much of Cadence --- her name was mentioned on page 15 and there was a brief glimpse of her when she appeared to be whispering in Mr. Wonij's ear (Darsin is his first name) on page 33 of chapter 20 (we didn't know at the time that she was Cadence, all we knew at that time was that she was some ghostly mysterious woman).  Now this page is meant to connect the name with that "ghostly" woman Sharing the last page of Tirin's wellness extraction (the aftermath of what happened after Mistress was "extracted" from Tirin's brain):

  1. As a scientist, you would know that ghosts aren’t real

    1. He should know that shouldn’t he! 😁

  2. I’m lost here. Who is Cadence?

    1. Back on page 15 of this chapter, Prince Jilak explained to Tirin how he obtained the timegate to go to Riuotho. A woman in his harem named Cadence was the one who advised him (he did not know it was a timegate, he was only told of the possibility that he could become very powerful (by trading for Lord Durminat’s ability to siphon energy from humans)). The name Cadence was only mentioned once on page 15 and we get a brief glimpse of her when she appeared to be whispering in Mr. Wonij’s ear (Darsin is his first name) on page 33 of chapter 20 (we didn’t know at the time that she was Cadence, all we knew at that time was that she was some ghostly mysterious woman).

      1. Thank you very much. Now the dominos are falling! 😀

  3. Never known a comic to beat this one for invisible gremlins that mutter ideas into people’s ears. Where is Oscar, anyway?

If there’s a tier where supporters can see just how persuasive Cadence was… go on without me. I’ll be fine right here.

    1. See above (I’m sharing the safe-for-work version of the last page of Tirin’s extraction session – which answers the question about Oscar). Understood about not wanting to see Cadence’s persuasive skills (Reparations is a chapter about what happens to Billy while Tirin, Trina, and Reny were on Riutho — I was thinking of sharing that as the next chapter — edited to not be so explicit as it kind of has some Cadence influences). But I haven’t decided if I really want to do that…

  4. Yeah, after ‘living’ with someone in your head (and she’s had Oscar for a long time, two lifetimes) getting use to the silence can take even longer

What about Oscar in PeeTee? Or was he just in her ship? Butt, then how did she get him into Lil Tee?

    1. What mean is: didn’t PeeTee lose him (and that female assassin) when she lost her ship? Or is TirTeen’s Oscar from a different timeline where she never got the female nor lost the ship?

    2. Tirin’s Oscar was actually kind of a figment of her mind (a side effect of the nano injections that Billy gave her when she was a kid — way back in Chapter 11, page 18)

      1. The only reason she thought it was Oscar, was because of the life-history from PeeTee?

        1. Yes, that’s right

      2. I had assumed that it manifested as Oscar because it was Tirin Prime’s life history that was being nano injected. I noticed that Billy lost his shoulder angel around the same time, and remember Billy saying that he had fixed the nano injected artifact problem.
